Emma mediates civil and commercial disputes and offers workplace mediation services.

Sometimes attempts to negotiate an issue can become stuck and relationships can falter or even break down.  If the matter has progressed towards litigation or an irreconcilable breakdown, the financial, psychological and time costs can become all-encompassing.  It’s never too late to look to mediation to help resolve a dispute and to prevent it from ending up in court.

Emma is a professionally qualified mediator with wide experience in human behaviour, communication and conflict management. Having worked in senior roles in legal services for over 10 years, Emma brings an appreciation of dispute resolution processes and of the client / lawyer relationship to her practice.  Through the mediation process, Emma  facilitates the parties involved in any dispute to reach their own solution.  Solicitors and legal advisers are welcome in the process to support the parties as they may wish.

All mediation is confidential, judgement free and undertaken by the parties voluntarily.  With a friendly, calm and highly professional approach, Emma ensures the process is flexible so that the parties involved can determine how it can best work for them. Emma’s focus is on encouraging the parties to develop the optimum resolution to meet their own objectives. You will find Lucid’s mediation fees to be competitive with market rates.

Mediation Coaching

Emma combines her mediation and professional coaching expertise to coach people who are participating in a mediation.

Working beyond the typical scope of a mediator, as a professional coach, Emma coaches a party to help them engage in the mediation process and to develop their own resources to effectively participate in the mediation and beyond. This may include pre-mediation preparation, acting as a silent partner in the mediation and/or supporting the client in developing their conflict management skills for the future. It can also involve post-mediation support, including transitioning into a new agreement or even navigating a return to the mediation table.

Every person experiences conflict differently. As your coach, Emma will help you to gain a clear understanding of the mediation process and what it is you want to achieve. She will also share tools that can help you to communicate throughout the process of negotiation.
